How to Become a REST Coach
If you're interested in becoming a REST Retreat coach, your journey begins with a clearly articulated process that guides you to a personal vision of the impact you can have in the rest & refreshment of one's soul. Here is a detailed roadmap to help you see the possibilities.

Step 1
Understand What Coaching Is
To begin your journey as a REST coach, it helps to understand what coaching truly is. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as a partnership—a thought-provoking, creative process that helps clients tap into their personal and professional potential. As coaches, we guide clients in exploring their strengths, values, identity, and inner wisdom, creating space for new perspectives and empowered ways of thinking. And here’s the good news: you can relax. The transformation isn’t up to you. You don’t have to have the answers. Our role as coaches is simply to hold sacred space.
Step 2
Understand the Goal of Coaching for REST
In REST, the goal of coaching is to listen deeply for where our sister may feel stuck—what limiting beliefs are weighing on her, and how her view of God, herself, and her place in the lives of others may be shaping her experience. We listen for what’s causing distress, and we listen for the longing beneath it. You’ll learn how to gently invite her into an expanded vision of her future and how to ask questions that help her make healthy shifts that support her desired outcomes.
Step 3
Enroll in REST Certified Transformational Leadership Coach Program (RCTLC)
The next step in becoming a REST coach is to enroll in the REST Certified Transformational Leadership Coach (RCTLC) program. Enrollment is limited to a small cohort of eight participants to ensure depth, intimacy, and meaningful practice. The curriculum is grounded in the ICF core competencies and code of ethics, and is thoughtfully shaped for faith-based, transformative leadership.

Step 4
Gain Coaching Experience
Coaching is a practice-based profession, which means real-world experience is essential to your growth. While most certification programs require you to find your own practice clients, RCTLC removes that pressure. Instead, you’ll be paired with a REST Retreat participant and walk alongside her throughout her 10-month cohort experience. And don’t worry—you’ll have group mentorship coaching calls and ten training sessions under your belt before you ever meet with your practice client. This gives you the opportunity to coach in a supportive, structured environment where your skills can grow with confidence and clarity.
Step 5
Be the Difference in Someone's Life
Pairing this coaching certification with the REST Retreat, opens up the possibility to contribute immediately to the transformation of another. To experience the power of coaching right away.

This can feel intimidating, but if you have an empathic heart toward others and the ability to prioritize someone else’s voice for one hour at a time, there is no way to get this wrong.

Many of us rarely—if ever—experience what it feels like to be truly listened to. In a world full of noise and distraction, where everyone is saying “look at me,” it is both countercultural and deeply refreshing to enter a space where we are asked questions rather than given advice, and listened to in a way that helps us feel not just heard, but understood.

In 1 Samuel 16:11 David’s family could not sit (rest) until he arrived—his presence mattered to the fulfillment of the moment.

So, let me ask you… who is waiting for you to show up, so they can rest?
